How to add read mores to mobile posts!

I don’t know if this works with anything other than the tumblr app, but it does help with the app! I’d appreciate if you could reblog this so that others can find out about this technique as it could help people out!

Step one: type up the entirety of your post.

Step two: instead of publishing your post, save it as a draft.

Step three: go to your drafts and choose to edit the post you want to add a read more to.

Step four: you’ll notice that the post is now in html format. Your apostrophes and some other characters will look funny (basically they will be a string of characters and numbers) but don’t change those! That’s how the html parser reads those characters! Don’t change anything except for adding the read more.

Step five: locate where you wish to add a read more.

Step six: add [ [ M O R E ] ] (without the spaces) to where you want the break to be. This is easier to achieve if you had made line breaks where you want the read more to be located.

Step seven: publish your post which now has a read more.
