– QR Codes only allow you to copy the Mii and use it on Miifotos and such, it won’t serve as a friend request of any sorts.

– To be able to add someone and see their activity, you have to add them as friends, for this you must first link your Facebook and/or Twitter account to your Miitomo account. 

– From there, Miitomo will see which of your Facebook Friends/Twitter Followers have Miitomo as well and you’ll be able to send friend requests from there.

– It won’t give anyone access to your Facebook or Twitter profile however, so if you want to keep them separate, you don’t need to worry. You cannot see where does people from other people’s Friend list come from either.

– If someone send you a Friend Request, you can choose not to accept it, the other person won’t be notified about your refusal.
